The Geophysical Institute of Israel (GII) carried out a seismic acquisition project in the Ogaden license (Blocks 9, 9A and 13) on behalf of SOUTHWEST ENERGY (UK) Ltd. (SWE). The project consisted of 27 2D seismic lines with a total length of 1641 Km. Actual Data Recording started on May 11, 2011 and ended on February 10, 2012. Data quality was fair to good down to 7500-8000 msec. In places, even the deeper parts of the seismic section were characterized with fair data quality.
The original program was completed successfully reporting the biggest seismic project ever executed by GII.

GII operated a Vibroseis crew in the project; V.P's conducted every 50 meters where Geophone station interval was 25 m. In-field fully processed 2D stacks were produced on a daily basis as work progressed. LVL survey conducted - acquiring Refraction and Up-Hole data.
Some 60 - 80 local workers, part of them from the villages in the prospect area, were hired, trained and became a part of the seismic crew - contributing to the execution of this seismic project. Security forces of the Ethiopian Army escorted the seismic crew, maintaining a secure and safe environment all over the project.
